Heaven Within Us – A New Reality in Christ

A man walks on water at twilight, illuminated by the golden light radiating from a glowing figure of Jesus in the distance. The scene evokes divine guidance and faith, with the man stepping forward toward Christ across shimmering, rippling water under a dusky blue and amber sky.

Reflections on Hebrews 2:1–4

We must pay careful attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. The message of salvation was first spoken by the Lord, then confirmed by those who heard Him. This is no ordinary teaching—it is the announcement of a new reality. The Kingdom of Heaven is now among us, within us, and it has reshaped our entire understanding of what it means to be human.

Jesus, filled with the Spirit, taught the Good News both in word and in action. His life revealed not just truth but the way—the model for living as true sons of God. Those who are filled with the very presence and persona of God’s Spirit become vessels—bi-pedal temples—walking on earth as those who have already died with Christ and now live by faith in Him. They are surrendered, fully yielded to the will of the Holy One, no longer guided by personal agendas, but moved by divine desire and heavenly discretion.

Jesus showed us what it means to live in full alignment with the Father—not bringing His own ideas or self-actualized goals, but saying, “Not My will, but Yours be done.” His was a life of obedience, perfected through suffering. Heaven flowed through Him because heaven was within Him. And now, by grace, heaven is within us.

Peter came to understand this mystery through imitation. As a student does what he sees his teacher do, so Peter followed the example of Christ. He dared to believe that if Jesus healed the lame, then by that same Spirit, so could he. If Jesus walked on water when led by the Spirit, then Peter too could walk—so long as he was led the same way. And he did. Jesus had told him to come, and he stepped out onto the water.

Peter did not act in presumption. He acted in faith, trusting the voice that called him.

Later, standing by a lame man at the temple gate, Peter moved again—not by flesh, but by the Spirit:

“Silver and gold have I none, but what I have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

And the man did.

This is what it means to “put on Christ”—to take His personhood, His example, and allow it to transform our identity. It is to live no longer as ourselves, but as sons in the likeness of the Son, moved by the Holy Spirit who abides in us.

Abba paid a great price to bring us into this new kind of life. He gave us Jesus to show us humanity’s intended purpose—our created design in God’s eternal plan. And He gave us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, so that we would never be left alone. We are not orphans. We are not without guidance.

We now live empowered lives, filled with divine assistance in all things—through pain and tragedy, through joy and victory. He never leaves us or forsakes us. He is always working all things together for our good as we abide in Him and He abides in us. This relationship is not based on fear or performance. It is rooted in love—unshakable, indestructible love.

“Nothing above the earth or below—nothing at all—can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We give all glory to Him who is the head of the whole family—both in heaven and on earth. He has joined Himself to us. We are no longer two, but one spirit with Him.

This was the plan all along: to bring many sons to glory. And now, in Christ, we can do all things—because our strength comes not from ourselves, but from the Christ-life within us. The mystery is revealed. The veil is torn.

Heaven is here.
Heaven is in you.
Now, walk as sons of light.
